Wednesday September 10, 2008

Major retailers are releasing credit cards that come with great rewards programs. You'll be rewarded for doing your grocery shopping or buying clothes. So if you're thinking of putting your credit cards away - you might want to reconsider. Since last year, a number of major retailers have been releasing credit cards that offer them reward points for in store shopping and shopping in other stores. Depending on your spending needs, you might like to consider how you could benefit from these retailer credit cards.

Last year, Myer released the Myer Visa Card. If you are shopping in Myer, you'll earn triple reward points with the Myer one rewards program. If you're using this credit card as your daily credit card, you'll earn one reward point for every dollar spent. You'll become eligible for exclusive offers and VIP invitations. This credit card also offers competitive interest rates, interest free days, supplementary cards, and the annual fee is waived for the first year.

Woolworths has joined with HSBC and MasterCard to offer the Everyday Money Credit Card. Just released, this rewards based credit card offers competitive interest rates and the opportunity to receive cash bonuses every four months. You'll earn reward points for doing your weekly shopping. If you're buying from the Woolworths Select range, you'll earn three reward points for every dollar. Other products in the Woolworths owned stores will earn you two reward points for every dollar. Shopping anywhere else will earn your one point for every dollar spent.

David Jones will be releasing a credit card in conjunction with American Express in the upcoming months before Christmas.
